Career Highlights and Resume
Career Synopsis
My career path up until this point has been a winding one. In 2010, I began working as an elementary school teacher in London, England. With two years of travel under my belt, competing with London Underground passengers for coveted seat space and navigating the subtleties of a foreign country, I was ready to return to Canada. Finding a job as a teacher in Toronto proved to be difficult with an influx of qualified teachers entering the market. Multiple job applications and several interviews later, I happily found equally valuable work as an Early Childhood Educator with Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. It was during my time at Holland Bloorview that I was truly able to hone in on my observation, assessment, individualized learning and adaptive instruction skills. I also began working privately with families providing early intervention services to mostly children on the autism spectrum, which I continue to do today. In 2015, I was hired to work on the Toronto District School Board where I continue to explore various roles.
Career Goals
1) Permanent Employment - Classroom Teacher or Learning Coach
2) Early Intervention services - continue to provide to families and children
